ONE awning is BETTER than a million UMBRELLAS!

So... what does an awning and a bunch of umbrellas have to do with filtered water?! Well..first off, you know what an awning is, right? Those sheltered like materials that hang over the side of buildings you are thankful for when it's down pouring and you left your only umbrella in the car and your rain jacket is, well... who knows when the last time was that you saw your rain jacket?!

Okay...back to how this relates now that you know what an awning is!! So, I read this book once (being a math major I only read a couple...it's a shame I can't remember the name of it for ya!) that poked fun at the idea that there are millions of people walking around with their individual umbrellas all going to and fro and are barely covered from the storm... when they could in fact have one giant awning or covered walk way where they could peacefully walk outdoors during the storm and all stay nice and dry! A community/family umbrella if you will... This idea really struck me as a neat one... work together to be smarter, not harder on your own!

Okay... now, I told you I would tell you how this relates to water (other than the obvious... you need an umbrella when it is RAINING WATER! ;-) ). What if we all started thinking about water filtration systems this way? Most of us don't prefer (and a good bunch won't even) drinking water from the tap... so then we think we are doing the right thing by drinking our clean, fresh (yeah right) water out of bottles or filtered water pitchers (our individual umbrellas, if you will), while the rest of our family then too is having to have their own bottled water, etc., you then have to repurchase more bottled water, pitchers..blah, blah, blah...it's an exhausting path of taking individual steps to have clean water (which your tap water may actually be better for you than that bottled water you buy at the store..but I'll blog on that another day!).

WHAT IF...you had a residential filteration system for your water?! (THINK AWNING here!!) You would be able to drink from the tap safely, shower/bathe safely, provide clean, fresh water for your children, pets and guests safely! Not just have an individualized filtered water experience, but a community, family way of living with filtered water!

Just something to ponder and this blog above leads me into so many ideas for future posts...so stay tuned! Oh, and if you know the name of that book I referenced, let me know... I'd like to read it again... until then... drink up your filtered water! ;-)
